Overview:
Daggers & Dewclaws is a game that allows you to explore a fantasy setting as either a human warrior, or fox mage. Each character has their own ways of interacting with and percieving the world, and access to different content. It seems there are many games with the gay tag that can be a little less than advertised. Those of you purposefully searching for those scenes can find a few of them for both characters, and it's something I intend to add more of over time.

Non-unique:
- Avoidable, non-con with Baratier on his first meeting.
- Herrold, the canine helper at Becca's farm.
- Potential partners via the Bunnymask route.

Wizard only:
- Multiple scenes via the prostitution route in the brothel.
- Dub-con with the Yellow Stripes in the Anxious Pigeon.
- Bunnymask initiation.

Fucking *PREACH*! It's so frustrating how many games with the tag on here have like, one VERY mediocre scene and it's so much not at all a focus that the tag is basically worthless. A good 50-75% of the threads I have on ignore because I know they're not *really* using the tag and it's bullshit.

Those of you purposefully searching for those scenes can find a few of them for both characters, and it's something I intend to add more of over time.

Good on you for putting a decent amount of material together before putting out an initial release. Despite how obvious that seems it's getting to be more and more rare for developers to have an hour or two of reading ready to go.

Once I play through all of what's there I'll write up some comments, but a couple of bugs I saw: the doctor's exam for the wizard character has no continue button and the Yellow Stripes scenes definitely have some bad code:

HTML games that rely on certain characters for scenes always end up a jumbled mess it also makes finding specific content so very hard
like what if I want femdom which character do I play?
what if I want futa what character do I play?
what if I want to top what character do I play?

There's a logic/storyflow hiccup during the mission to steal the brothel madame's black book. If you go down the steps it will assume that you've agreed to work at the brothel even if you've never even discussed it.

In fact, you don't seem to be able to progress toward stealing the book if this happens. It just repeats this same out-of-sequence scene as if you're working for the brothel.

Does that mean Gay contents (that's not femboy / sissy / trap) will not be a focus, but side content that will only be drip fed randomly?

How far along is the game? Since you mentioned this is F95 ZONE INITIAL RELEASE instead of the game initial release, I assume this has been released for a while then.

And now that I've done the Soldier-exclusive stuff:

-When the Wizard visits the boar town the menu mentions rebuking the baroness despite the fact that you don't meet her with this character.
-The soldier also runs into the problem where going down the steps to steal the book assumes that you're on the Wizard's brothel route and loops this scene.

All in all I have good impressions, though. Having multiple protagonist characters to choose from, going through some of the same locations and finding different opportunities (and running into each other here and there along the way) is something I'm doing in my own project, too, and I love to see others using it because I think it's a really fun idea.

If I have to critique something it'd probably be how the universe seems to contort itself to find opportunities to mention the size of the Wizard's penis during his unique material. If it's going to come up so constantly I'd at least like to see more variation in how it's done. There was some, but based on what I'm seeing here I don't think it's a robust enough kink to hang the whole character on. I know that some people -really- like penis humiliation material, but when everyone mentions it and it's always hitting the same notes it gets to be routine. I actually liked the bunnymask initiation scene with the vixen just because someone finally reacted to it in a normal way rather than a size queen porny way.

That and if you're going to have real characters for protagonists I really think you should have dialogue for them. The Soldier is more of a blank slate type, but in scenes where backstory was being related or one of the protagonist characters was mentioning their opinion on something it got clunky to have that described in vague way rather than shown to me through dialogue. If you try to keep to the old fashioned 'imagine the exact wording of the dialogue yourself' convention while also trying to give them specific personalities and history I think you'll find that it gets very limiting very quickly. The only real reason to have that is for complete blank slate player avatar protagonists, where everything about them is left to player headcanon (or apathy), and that's not really what you're going for here.

Oh, it was also refreshing to see a game with a unique artstyle. I'd rather have something that's rough around the edges than identically nondescript AI pictures.

It will be added as much as I have inspiration to do so. I am open to suggestions or requests if you have an idea. If you want to call it drip-fed randomly, perhaps that is accurate. But it will be added as I have good ideas. If you're asking or wondering if gay content isn't in my interest, and I am merely adding it to serve an audience, than that is incorrect. I enjoy gay content that is femboy, sissy, trap, but also purely masculine, or a mix-between the two. Bishi, something like this.

Thank you for the expansive reply! I am a fan of - and like you said, there are some fervent enjoyers of SPH stuff, so it will be quite present I suspect in the future. I do think you're right in that perhaps they should be more chance for something 'normal' - say with a vixen, or goblin, kobold, someone closer to the wizard's physical size.

As for the not-dialogue, that is another good point. They both do have personalities in there. The fighter being a bit less present, but he's got a history and all that. I will need to think about what to do with that going forward. Having these two 'exist' at the same time is quite a cute idea, I am happy to see you are also employing that in your own project. Though, I can't seem to look at your profile and learn what that project is.

In a more general reply: thank you to everyone who mentioned errors with the game! Some are already fixed, some not quite yet. I will try my best to weed out those issues.

Rough art can be more enjoyable then "good" art. Lets your imagination help out and its usually easier to do more of it.

Now, there is some. There will be more in the future. If you're fishing for those scenes in particular, you can find them via the Bunnymask route as either class, there is a futa in the brothel, and finally there is one in the initiation for the wizard during the Bunnymask route.

Oh well, at least this way he can't accidentally shack up with the resident magical powerhouse and accidentally bring about the revival of a dead goddess of murder. Besides, yellow isn't nearly as scary as black.

Honestly, don't bother with it too much then. Text-based games that add art sometimes detracts for me personally. Purely text-based lets me use my imagination where I want, while art kinda forces the visuals. Use it where you deem it necessary, but if the focus is the text, then keep it to that, and dab on the haters who whine that they need pictures to get off, because they're just jealous they can't get off to words
