This is very feature complete game for a first release, and some pretty decent management mechanics with a cute romancable companion. Its strengths definitely lies in its gameplay and writing, since the porn part of the game is pretty stiff and slow at this point in development.
The management mechanics are pretty basic, but still fun. It consists of managing several resources, making sure that they do not get too low, while spending the surplus on experience, training and relationship with Lucy. Early game, it is easy to feel like you are doing things wrong, so I imagine many people will get frustrated and quit at this point. After not too long however, the difficulty will drop off drastically, and you will settle into a routine. Preferably, the game would get harder as the game goes on.
Another appeal of the game is the games great world building and art direction. The game introduces some high magic concepts, then builds the world and art around it until it feels grounded and natural. It is nice to see when a game harmonizes different elements of the game this way.
Lucy is the games heroine, and she is a fairly well written character. It is worth pointing out that the games lore, mechanics and sex content being conveyed through Lucy, centering a lot of the game around her. As a character she is a powerhouse, solving issues and combats while the protagonist is a bit of a bumbling idiot, at least at the beginning. The reasons she stays with the protagonist are random chance, convenience and the fact the protagonist owns an inn, which feels kind of disappointing in a romance. I would prefer if there was an extended section during the first summer where she is weaker and the protagonist nurses her back to health, or show more reasons why she would care about a seemingly very mediocre person. Other than that the shift from friend to girlfriend(?) feels very sudden.
Porn is very much the weak part of the game. The art direction that I in other parts of the game really suit it feel very stiff during the porn scenes, which are unskippable and SLOW. In games where the optimal decision is to engage with a mechanic often the mechanic really should be skippable. Either that or rework the sex mechanics to be a lot more engaging.
