I checked the dlsite for the peeps who made this game, and it seems there was one before this game. Is that one just not translated/available? Cant seem to find it anywhere on here, at least.

Because I believe if you had tried literally at all to find the save file location you would have found it immediately considering it's right in the fucking game's folder in a folder called SAVE.

Side quest give you end game fishing rod, costumes, collectible
Tbh this game is so straight forward and it can be clear within 1hour or less. if you speedrun it just do the main quest
What's the name of the end game fishing rod you speak of and which quest unlocks it? Does it work for all water types and make you automatically win the fishing minigame?

Here's a screenshot of all the fishing gear I have so far:

LotMB Fishing Gear So Far.PNG

So far I haven't got all the fish. So if there's an OP fishing rod or any other kind of item that'll make catching the remaining fish, let me know. I'm about to catch the last legendary fish you can catch from the gem of bonding secret pathway.

EDIT: The legendary fish in question was the Coelacanth. So far the fish I haven't caught yet are the Brine Shrimp, Escolar, Marbled Rockfish and Cherry Salmon. How exactly do I catch these fish? I assume that Marbled Rockfish (East Inzu Fishing Port) and Cherry Salmon (Manpeki Lake) are the most straightforward in that you fish for them where the map shows that they are. But how the hell do I get Escolar and Brine Shrimp? Are they Shinto Festival fish as well?

Level 3 is the strongest fishing rod for each type I believe. There's no autocatch but there is a skill that lets you choose which fish is caught as long as it can be caught at the spot you are at. It's from the fishing guild, you need to help various fishing members around town.
Brine shrimp is from feeding the seafolk from the scammer guy. You have to buy a lot of food from him to get it and even more if you want the alt versions. Escolar is behind the door near your base. The key is in a bottle on the beach eventually iirc.

A little help in your research:

at one point in the game you get a "tengu jump" skill, go in that rock part and you can fish there with no problem

> CHERRY SALMON

that is easy to get

> ESCOLAR

with this things get complicated, the place where you can fish it is connected to a quest, don't remember which but I think it was the one of the landlady of the inn... anyway, for reach the place you need to cross the closed door behind the inn, for open it you have to finish that landlady quest and then go to the beach where you'll find a bottle with a key inside, with it you open the door and after crossed the passage you reach an are with the strongest clothes of the game and the possibility of fish escolar.

For the brine shrimp things are a little different... first you need to get one of those water monkey container thing, I think from that vendor that tried to scam you various times, when they grow enough you'll have to purchase the sea people food from the vendor, the price rise of 1000 after each purchase, and feed the sea poeple, when they reach their peak they'll offer the shrimp to you, for unlock the other scene with her you need to feed more if I'm not wrong.

So just do the fishing guild quest to get the final level three fishing rods then? Have been wondering where to find them.

I do have the Tengu Jump skill. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to catch the Coelacanth in the first place.

Figured that would be the case. I just didn't catch it the first time because when I went to that area of the lake, I ended up catching something different.

Thank you for the tips and pointers. They'll greatly help me out.

No, you do the quests for the skill that lets you choose what fish you attempt to catch. Like, you start fishing while the skill is active and when the fish bites, a menu pops up showing a list of fish that can be caught in that spot and you choose one and then the fishing game starts as normal. The level 3 fishing rods are from all over the place, just talk to people and do stuff for them, you'll get them eventually.

Oh, I got the final level 3 rod I was missing by completing all the requests from the aquarium guy. I also ended up catching the escolar. So I'm all set for now. I've been using this guide to help me out:

Though I should've done everything in order instead of going all over the place. Oh well, I'm almost done with catching every whopper and preggo variant anyways.

There was another game similar to this one some time ago, but the protagonist lived with two girls and it also involved fishing, you could ask them out, does anyone know the name?
