Because when I pay for a dev, I expect to get the full game. People who pay for porn are a rare bunch, but here even those who give $15 a month are not considered generous enough to receive the full game. I think it's a lack of respect.
I can understand this mentality if you're BUYING said game on something like Steam or in a store. If you chose to support a dev on sites like Patreon or Subscribestar you should already know what you're getting into. You're not actually buying anything so the expectation is misplaced. Patreon's tier system is a REWARD system that creators can use as a "thank you" to those who DONATE "x" amount.
EVERYONE (welt almost everyone imo) who frequents f95 can or is getting everything for free. Those of us who are also supporting different developers are so because we want to support those developers, not so we can download their game from their website since it is not a necessity.
I get the point of a business model issue for those who comment on the tiers, with the implication we are talking about non-f95 fans (just the General Patreon or SubScribeStar public.). I don’t get it when f95 members are personally outraged by the tier system, however.
The problem lies in what you get at each tier. at 5 dollars you get the game yes but its an inferior version with no animations(which is a core part of almost every game in development atm including this one) at 10 and 15 dollars you get some extra stuff that does not enhance/change the core game in any way and is perfectly fine to charge extra for but yet you still dont get animations at those tiers. The fact that the last tier in which you get extra stuff (20 dollars) is where you get a pay walled core part of the game is honestly kind of ridiculous.

If you anyone doesn't like how a Patreon creator uses the tier REWARD system, you can always wait till the game is further along, more than half or even after the game is done to DONATE. Your one time $20 donation will get you the full game instead of donating every month for "x" months till it is done.

once again:
You do not get THE game for X$, you get 3 games (one of them completed).
Also you don't pay for the game, you donate the developer - and the developer gives you something back. It's not any "buy" at all.
And once again: the funny part is, that the complaints come over here, where all the stuff is even for free - and nobody cares.
I would just pay $5 for the game, and get the "full" version from f95 if it's such a big problem for you. The dev is entitled to his own business plan. We shouldn't make it a big issue tbh.

you dont get DMD on Patreon no matter what you pledge gotta go over to the other place for that. Ive already pledged multiple times during Melody's development so no im not "paying" for that game since i already bought that long ago, this isnt a netflix subscribtion where you lose access to the games once you stop your sub, and just because something is free doesnt mean you cant criticize it lol

Sunshine Love v0.0.1 Extras Included(Patreon Version)
Good morning/evening again to my loyal supporters.
Wherever you are in the world, we hope that you are safe and looking after yourself as best as you can, and as always, we really appreciate the support you have given us throughout the creation of our first two games.
Today we proudly present and release the first update for our third visual novel “Sunshine Love” (SL).
If you're having trouble finding a specific doughnut or a peeping tom screen, this walkthrough is for you. You'll find screenshots of the location of each doughnut/peeping tom screen in the game.
This first release of Sunshine Love is a lot bigger than the usual updates of our other two games. It’s taken several months of planning, weeks of hard work and long hours just for us to get it as perfect as possible. It’s been a tiring process, but we’re really confident that it will all be worth it in the end.
However, not all of our SL releases will be as long as this one, mainly due to the short time-frame we normally allow ourselves between updates (4 weeks usually).
Plus the development of Sunshine Love is a lot more complex than it has been with Melody and DMD.
The one thing we don’t have to worry about with future updates is things like coming up with the plot, characters' designs, coding the galleries, the stats systems, and the music jukebox. These things took up a huge chunk of our time and it’s a huge relief knowing that we won’t have to do them again for any other update.
Normally we would work over a four-week period to get updates of either of our games out at least once a month. But after requiring an extra few days to work on this first version of Sunshine Love, we have seen just how much of a difference having more time to work on the game really makes.
So with that, we will be releasing our two games, five weeks apart from each other, and we will continue to aim for a Saturday release so you can play the new updates on a weekend rather than during the week. With this amended schedule, we will do our utmost to make sure you still get one update of either game at least once a month, even if we have to adjust the schedule a bit here and there.
Anyways, without further ado, we’ll let you get to playing the game. Please let us know what you think because as our loyal supporters, your opinions, comments and feedback mean a hell of a lot to us.
We make these games for you as much as ourselves, and we would sincerely love to continue creating them for as long as you want us to.
And with the way the world is at the present time, we especially hope that we can bring you some joy to all of you, with this, our brand new game.
All the best, stay safe, and we hope you thoroughly enjoy our third visual novel, “Sunshine Love”!
