Review for V0.6.3
I can't help but feel a bit dissapointed with this game, I feel like the game could be so much more.
First off, the graphics—they're okay, but not mind-blowing or anything. I would say slightly above average on this one, it just doesnt really stand out. The girls do look nice though.
Now, the story... not super original and a bit on the cliché side, but honestly, I kinda have a weakspot for games like this. Three desperate/hopeless girls showing up to your doorstep and you helping them. Just don't go in expecting to be blown away by some groundbreaking narrative.
The whole harem situation in the game is... weird, to put it mildly. You're basically living with these three sisters, romancing them, and somehow they're all clueless about what's going on with the others. It feels like a missed chance to add some real depth or drama.
The way the romance is handled also feels a bit off to me. You're supposed to be this caretaker figure for the sisters, which already sets up a strange dynamic. But instead of handling it with some nuance, the game just dives into the romance without much hesitation. Only the girls are a bit reluctant, but the mc just doesnt mind at all.
In other games, the protagonist is usually more reluctant, and the relationship develops more naturally and is also initiated by the hopeless/desperate girl, which makes a lot more sense to me and just feels more wholesome. Here, it just comes across as creepy rather than wholesome or romantic.
Speaking of which, I feel like there has been no good reason given for why these girls are falling for the main character. It just happens, and you're supposed to roll with it. It makes the whole romance angle feel kind of shallow and unearned.
So yeah, that's 'Radiant' for you. It's got its moments, and I enjoyed it for what it is, but it's definitely got its downsides. If you're into these kinds of stories, you might get a kick out of it, but keep your expectations in check."
