Here is a guide posted from the Itch.io
This guide goes over everything for week 4, it'll show you what you need to clear the trial:

I can't say for absolutely sure but it seems highly likely. There are 3 female characters among the potential romantic partners & from what I've seen so far it's up to the player who they pursue. The game spans 7 Weeks and it's up to the player who they try to romance, at least 2 of the characters are part of the competition while the 3rd is a servant, but it doesn't seem as if the protagonist is forced to marry 1 of the men, also the goal is to marry, it doesn't happen automatically, so not achieving that goal is most likely a valid way to finnish the game, there seem to be quite a lot of endings.
Whether they are Otome or Yaoi, female-created games almost always come across as terrifying. Marriage after SEVEN frigging WEEKS into a relationship would be a nightmare to anyone sane.

Ehhh my character just died in the second week after their horse chose to jump off a cliff because something scared them. Having your character die randomly like that sucks. I didn't expect the challenge mode to be so punishing, pretty much expecting you to predict the unpredictable.

It's not exactly random, it was a murder-plot you can discover details of (if you survive). As for surviving, it's doable in a few different ways -- either with character's own skills (if they're high enough) or failing that, there's two ROs who can come to your rescue, provided you bothered to interact amiably with at least one of them.

It's worth to keep on mind that this game was inspired to some degree by Long Live the Queen, where the possibility for your character to die horribly in one way or another was also regularly around the corner. That's also why the easy mode exists.

lol easy/story mode is hard enough and even the devs recommend to play on the easiest difficulty for like the first 4 playthroughs till u figure everything out first

I figured it wasn't the "you're walking down the street and a lightning kills you" kind of random death. It just felt way too sudden to me, especially right after my mousy bookworm from Jiyel was told they got poisoned and need to find a cure on their own (not exactly a hint to improve your physical defenses, is it?).

Normally when I see a choice between hard and easy mode I pick the former because the latter tends to just let you ignore the game's mechanics completely and see whatever you want to see. Here the hard mode is actually hard, you have to think about how to build your character to make them capable of surviving whatever the game can throw at them.
