Unironically the only things that make the game "special" are the music and the fact that it's the only weird monster fucking game on the market. There's no world where v3 isn't a disappointment considering how high expectations are. I'm not surprised meandraco is never releasing it.

Who's even hyped about v3? What expectations? It's just same as v2 but ported to unity with improvements and new content.

With art assets at my hands I could port v2 to unity with "improvements" in a few months. And that's only because I never touched Unity before. Come on mate.
Well clearly you're a mighty specimen with multiple games under your belt, but what does that have to do with expectations or hype? Also you're free to port v2 to unity, the art assets are very accessible in the sub folders. I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate a v2 unity port.

I don't really follow the progress but I'm really looking forward to this game and I'm wondering why there is little to no data on the progress of development or maybe details on progress or am I just looking in the wrong place?

Sure, have I got your permission to use all of the assets then? Mind open sourcing the code as well, releasing everything with a license of your choice attached? To be honest I didn't expect this to be so easy, has no one offered over the 5 years??

Eh, as long as you don't claim to own the assets or make money with them, just credit me with the original game and assets and you're fine. There was a guy porting v2 to HTML5 long time ago but I don't know what happened to him.

I don't accept people helping me with the coding, art or the writing for the same reason I don't want people assembling or painting my miniatures, it's my hobby.

I'm afraid it won't be much help to you, but here you go, and no, I won't be paying any therapy bills. The entire thing is full of weird and/or old shit mixed in with the actual thing.

The code is organized as layers inside the flash editor but in reality they're part of a single script file.

How's the game's progress going so far? Since you guys are talking about ports, is the game's port finished or is it still ongoing? Id imagine you wouldnt use hat's port if they succeeded. Like letting them build their own house, not helping build your own.

The v3 unity engine port has been done for almost a year now. Since then I've been working on scripting/writing and art. I share pictures and writing sometimes on the discord. I know discord is not fun for following dev stuff, but it's the most comfortable place for it for me.

Great qualities to have for a dev (which is unfortunately quite rare).

Honestly Excited that this game is in fact not dead. I play DF, so I know all about long update waits. Take your time.

At this point, given the complexity (low) of the game's programming/design, it's actually incredible that we haven't seen any spiritual clones (or at least they've slipped beyond my radar). Simultaneously, anyone still checking this thread is absolutely insane to harbor resentment towards a dev for not pouring his life into a passion project just for your fap to feel a little more special when we're like 5 years dry on updates. I check here like once every six months or so out of curiosity & that's about it. Hell, maybe I'll try my hand at making a similar game myself someday. Or here is me encouraging someone out there to make such a game or if you know a game dev who is curious about an untapped market: this is one. I think the defining characteristic that makes Teraurge notable in the context of alien sex games is that there are habitats and ecosystems and the aliens are not all/necessarily sex-crazed things but creatures with behaviors that you have to figure out what their body language means, what kind of interactions accomplish what, etc, and it's not just about sex but there's a sexual element that's both positive and negative and allows for good or evil actions. The player gets a pretty open-ended approach to interacting with all these different creatures and it's pretty hard to accidentally be evil but even that I think is perhaps a missed opportunity; it would be incredibly human if we were to have a very positive-seeming interaction with a creature just to be informed later by someone else in-universe that we'd actually violated them horribly and they likely offed themselves after we'd left them or something, for instance. Maybe that happened honestly but it's been a damn long time since I played Teraurge by now.
