Hey guys I don't rly see where's the prblm. I actually love SL and I was wondering why not many AVNs have these kind of plots. This is actually a good thing. So what if it's a "rip-off". It actually won't be, if it manages to be the 1st AVN to actually pull it off. We should all enjoy, most games on this platform are done 1000 of times. Idk abt you but I've enever seen a "good" AVN with a similar plot.

I'm actually rooting for the dev/s
Also I didn't play the game, never play the 1st ver. It's too frustrating lol

Well I expected people to actually play the game before reading the forum about it, much like people complain about posts in the episode thread, for things that happen in the episode, as a spoiler. Hint, if it's in the readily available release or episode, it's not a spoiler.

And yeah I don't have a problem with the game so far, my post was just to refute the one who said it wasn't based on SL, when it so very obviously uses the majority of SL lore as the foundation of the game.

Oh, and before I forget.. In SL the sister had power potential, it's why her school was targetted that time. Not sure if they show that in the aniome but it was definitely explained in the manga.

I hope it's not ENTIRELY like solo leveling.
Because really, in solo leveling MC is the only one that CAN level up. The effort it took him to be strong was what pulls you in at the start, the intro was great, especially the puzzle part but after a while the story becomes bland and shallow and the side characters are really only there to see how cool the MC is as he, well, solos pretty much everything and everyone. the tension in fights is almost gone.

ngl tho, the "arise" part will always be cool. it didnt hit me immediately as I was a warcraft kid. I saw arthas do it first with ironic narration in the background as well.

as for romance choices in it, it was the either the one who's been backing you up for so long or the celebrity status s class girl, guess which one the mc picked?

then again, it is pretty successful so what do I know, people liked it

now, for this game. Music control. in the intro there's a flashback, different music plays, flashback ends, now present time, music's still playing. Sometimes it's the other way around.

I would bet my left nut that only MC can level up, and at best that any one else who levels up will be used to "save" the MC (think any anime cliffhanger circa 2000) but there will absolutely be no way for the player to influence who/when a level up happens positively or negatively
Given their (the devs) previous work those (SL) pitfalls might be better to fall into than their own (devs) pitfalls, honestly having it be based (heavily or not) on a existing story is more likely a benefit than a negative going by how the story in MRD played out.

I expect the biggest difference from SL/others is going to be the overall scale as even with just 2 very basic factions (good/bad) MRD's story and gameplay so clearly favored one side that the last i played the other route was going to be added after the "normal" one had concluded despite the story trying to be set up as a "ooooh which path with mc chooose?!"

The biggest issue with the previous game was that the LI's were all pretty boring tropes, their stories didn't matter to the point that sweeping changes could be made to their backstory with no effect on the story, even the scenes themselves were the same ones you had seen if you had played any other "default" HS game. Very much a turn your brain off kind of thing which i guess does mesh well with SL?

Plus showing potential and ACTUALLY powering up is quite different. I'm too lazy to return and read that chapter but if I remember correctly she was just unlucky a dongeon opened in her school.
mid Solo Leveling spoil The only one who was awakened at the time was her classmate and friend (which we alrdy saw in the anime). IF and rly if they targeted her (I rly don't remember it though albeit it's been a long time) bc of smt, I only see 2 other possibilities : bc she's MC's sis or bc at the time a shadow summon was cast in her shadow as her guardian. I rly don't remember her actually awakening, you might be confusing it with another serie based on SL.

You keep complaining aobut spoilers, it's like if you only watched the LOTR movies, the first one and then complained about things already out in the other two books, just because the movie hasn't come out. The books, and info, has been out for years, if you're too lazy to read it, not a spoiler, not my issue, just saying.

As for this game, the 'sister' has shown zero signs of having any power so no spoiler there since it hasn't occurred.

SL spoil HIS SIS NEVER HAD ANY POWER-UP OR ABILITIES DAMMIT (atleast it was never mentioned from what I remember)!!! THE DONGEON THAT OPENED IN HER SCHOOL HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH HER (as a person) AND THE FACT THAT SHE WAS TARGETED IS BC HER BROTHER PUT A SHADOW SUMMON IN HER SHADOW TO PROTECT HER. The ogre felt that unusual mana and went for her. That's it that's all. The only one with mana and who actually awakened is her bff.

Yeah it's been out for a looong time, and if smn went into Solo leveling' chapter's coms then it'd be his fault being spoiled but this thread has nothing to do with it apart that the game's inspired from it. Ppl shouldn't be spoiled of SL in here especially since this site has all the tools to avoid ppl getting spoiled...

Egad... so much crazy stuff in the comments. Who cares if the dev ripped off some anime/manga, except that it maybe means it needs the Parody tag? Let's just deal with the game itself so ppl reading the comments don't get totally confused.
In that vein, while I don't do "actual" reviews on initial releases, this one so far looks pretty good. Renders are reasonably well done, lighting is at least decent (and well above many HS2 avn's). The characters look good and act relatively like a normal person in their position would act. Whether or not they are versions of anime characters, they are interesting and that's good enough.
I even like the fact that the game doesn't jump straight into full-on sex at the first opportunity, but holds it til near the end of the chapter to focus on telling the story (and even then it doesn't.. quite.. go as expected lol..)
Overall, ignoring for now the apparently-missing Parody tag, I'd give it a good, solid 3.5/5 (with the caveat that I don't give 5 stars for 0.1 releases no matter how good they are.) I'll be keeping an eye on it and adding it to my A-list folder. Nice job, dev. Might wanna think about that Parody tag, though. Save us all these irritating arguments, ya? Peace...

I normally despise when people on here bitch about a MC being a coward etc. but this MC being so against even the thought of getting super powers is disgusting.

What type of power fantasy is this? Like what's next, is MC going to say he wants to stay single forever despite this being a harem game?

Edit: So it turns out you don't even have to do anything dangerous once you awaken powers, you can just go about your normal life but being superhuman. There is literally no downside.
